Isabel MacDonald wants everyone to enjoy this superb photograph of Campbeltown Gaelic Choir which was taken in 1964.
The choir had an impressive number of wins at the Royal National Mod and this photograph asks one big question: why doesn’t Campbeltown have a Gaelic Choir any more? Back row: Raibeart McCallum, Harry McIver, Calum Nicolson, Sandy Lavery.
Second row: Alistair McKinlay, Peter McKerral, Denis McWhirter, Donald Lawrie, Archie Rankin. Third row: Maria Rankin, Annie McCallum, Isabel McDonald. Fourth row: Mary Cameron, Agner Rankin, Cathie McKinlay, May McIvor, Mela Massey, Katie McGeachy. Front row: Nettie Semple, Catherine McIntyre, Annie Taylor, Isa Mirrlees, Rose B McConnachie (conductor), Mary Lavery, and Morag Smith.
