Lightning struck at least twice in Campbeltown on Wednesday December 10 as this amazing camerawork from Raymond Hosie shows.
With his recording equipment slowed down dramatically, the amateur photographer captured the incredible images seen below of the lightning storm that lit up the skies around the town and remained for several hours – all from the safety of his house at New Parliament Place.
The two images show lightning strikes near High Street during the day and at the Aqualibrium
Campbeltown turned out on Friday November 29 2013 for the annual Christmas parade and Christmas lights switch-on .
Robert Todd and Kirstie Renton were given the honour of switching the lights on after winning a competition to design Christmas lights.

The Royal Navy’s search and rescue helicopters regularly carry out exercises with the RNLI Campbeltown Lifeboat in Campbeltown Loch.
On Thursday May 23 2013 the MV Isle of Arran made its first official crossing in a three-year pilot, carrying vehicles and passengers, from Ardrossan to Campbeltown.
On board were a number of officials and dignatories including Michael Russell, Argyll and Bute MSP, standing in for Transport Secretary Keith Brown.
The ferry was met at Campbeltown New Quay by Kintyre Schools Pipe Band and around 100 members of the public. There was a short reception in the New Quay ferry terminal.

While the rest of the country experienced heavy falls of snow, Campbeltown was hit with flash floods of Friday January 25 2103 after field drains failed to cope with the volume of heavy rain which fell during the day. Millknowe Road, the main route into Campbeltown via the A83, was closed for a period of time as the street disappeared under water.
