Politicians will lay out their stalls at Campbeltown hustings

AT LEAST three general election contenders for the Argyll and Bute seat, on June 8, have pledged to attend a hustings in Campbeltown next Thursday (May 18.)

Former Argyll and Bute MP Alan Reid, the Scottish LibDem candidate. serving MP, the SNP’s candidate, Brendan O’Hara and Labour candidate, Michael Kelly, have all confirmed that they will be there.

Unfortunately, due to a longstanding prior commitment, the Conservative candidate, Gary Mulvaney, is unable to attend the Lorne and Lowland church hall event which is due to start at 7.30pm.

The chairman will be Reverend Philip Wallace.

Each candidate will make a timed two minute statement before questions from the public. The candidates will have one minute to make a reply.

It is hoped to have refreshments after the event.
