Councillor John Semple:Toilets must be 'vandal-proof'
NEW public toilets for Campbeltown must be ‘vandal proof’,councillors have agreed.
Councillors John Semple and Rory Colville agreed the Bolgam Street toilets had been an easy target for vandals due to their location and design.
A report on a new facility is due, with funding likely to come from CHORD funds set aside for town regeneration.
Councillor Semple said he hoped the new toilets could be combined with a marina facility, which would also be CHORD-funded if given the go-ahead:‘There’s no reason why the toilet part of that shouldn’t be similar to the toilets in Tarbert, which are modern,vandal-proof pay toilets open 24 seven.’
