Pupils were under almost constant pressure for the first 70 minutes.
THE historic legacy of football in Campbeltown was celebrated last night as Scottish first division side Greenock Morton came to the town for a friendly against Campbeltown Pupils.
The match, attended by a crowd of around 400,marked the opening of a major new football exhibition at Campbeltown Museum.
In the end the gulf in professionalism proved too much for Pupils as they went down to a 10-2 defeat, but the occasion was one to celebrate for all connected to football in the town.
For more on the ‘kit and caboodle’exhibition, and the match itself, see the Courier July 20,2012 or online from the same date at www.campbeltowncourier.co.uk/digital.
