KINTYRE farmers once again enjoyed success at the Royal Highland Show, taking home some major prizes.
Despite abysmal weather, and the accompanying problem of churning mud,the show at Ingliston near Edinburgh went ahead without a hitch from last Thursday through to Sunday.
Visitor numbers were slightly down on last year’s record, with 161,000 over the four days.
Malcolm McFadyen and David MacPhail both did well with their Clydesdales, with Malcolm winning overall champion across the Clydesdale class.
The Barr family from Clockheil also swept the boards in the Ayrshire cattle section, with the Turners at Kildalloig receiving placings for their Bluefaced Leicester sheep.
