GREENOCK Morton have accepted an invitation to play a pre-season friendly against the McFadyen sponsored Campbeltown Pupils AFC.
This match, against the team which finished eighth in the Scottish First Division last season, will mark the opening of a new football exhibition in Campbeltown Museum.
Morton have been regular visitors to Kintyre throughout the history of the game, beginning in 1888 with a match against Campbeltown Athletic FC. The Greenock club visited once more in the 19th century, before playing Campbeltown Academicals in 1913 and 1914 respectively.
It will take place on Wednesday July 11 at Kintyre Park,Campbeltown, with a 6pm kick-off.
