CELEBRATING 60 years since first coming to the town, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion needs donors more than ever before.
The mobile donating team first visited Campbeltown on May 12,1952. At the time 533 people donated, with 474 collected. In February this year a total of 182 pints were donated.
Next week David Barbour of Acharua Farm,Southend, will give his 52nd pint of blood, and is encouraging others to go along and do good.
Daivd started giving blood as a young farmer, and said:‘Go for it,it doesn’t hurt and you get lots of chocolate biscuits afterwards.’
The mobile team is coming to Campbeltown’s Victoria Hall on June 28 from 2.30pm to 3.45pm and 5.15pm to 7.30pm.
