A CAMPBELTOWN couple are celebrating an amazing 60 years of marriage this weekend.
Francis and Margaret McWhirter have reached their diamond wedding milestone,having tied the knot as 24-year-olds at St Kieran’s Church,Campbeltown,on June 17,1952.
They first met attending Campbeltown Grammar School and although Francis went away to the fishing aged 15,they still kept in touch and through mutual friends often enjoyed cycling trips together before romance blossomed.
