MACHRIHANISH is one of two beaches in Argyll and Bute to be given the coveted Seaside Award,for the eighth year running.
The Rural Seaside Award flag recognises the high standards of cleaniless,safety,and water quality.
Derek Robertson,Keep Scotland Beautiful chief executive,said:‘I am delighted Argyll and Bute has achieved two Seaside Award Flags this year.
‘I would like to pay tribute to all the hard work that goes in to achieving and keeping these awards by The GRAB Trust,Argyll and Bute Council and the local community.
‘I would encourage everyone,particularly in this economic climate,to make use of the fantastic beaches we have around the Scottish coast this summer.’
