FIREFIGHTERS from Campbeltown,Tarbert and Carradale were called to a major blaze on Monday May 7 2012 at Culfuar Farm near Tayinloan.
They were called out at 10.30am when workers on the farm discovered that a shed containing 100 tonnes of hay was on fire.
Around 20 firefighters worked to minimise the amount of smoke spreading onto the A83 just fifty yards away on the other side of a line of trees.
However, despite their efforts it was too late to save the shed or the hay inside it, said to be worth £10,000.
David Murdoch,Station Commander for Strathclyde Fire Service, told The Courier the fire service and the police would be investigating the causes of the fire.
Locally there are strong suspicions that it was started deliberately.
