Islay lifeboat was launched late on the afternoon of Sunday,February 19 2012 after Clyde Coastguard received a mayday call from a fishing vessel.
The FV Quest was six nautical miles north east of the island of Colonsay,with three people on board,when she suffered gearbox failure and was left drifting without power .
Clyde Coastguard carried out a distress broadcast to any boats in the area to go the fishing boat’s aid but when there was no response the Islay lifeboat was launched.
The Quest was then towed into Crinan by the lifeboat.
